Terrible’s Reopens Primm Valley Casino Just 17 Days After Taking Over Operations

PRIMM, Nev. — One of Southern Nevada’s most recognizable casino resorts is back in business. Terrible’s officially reopened Primm Valley Casino at noon on Wednesday, July 22, following an impressive 17-day effort to restore the property after assuming management earlier this month.

The reopening marks a major milestone for the Primm resort corridor, located along Interstate 15 at the Nevada-California border. Hundreds of Terrible’s employees worked around the clock after taking over operations on July 5 to prepare the casino for guests.

Company leaders welcomed visitors during a brief opening ceremony. Vice President of Advertising and Marketing Bryan Breeden, Vice President of Gaming Operations Mark Bennett and Cory Clemetson, grandson of the Primm founders, addressed the crowd before the doors officially opened.

Casino welcomes guests once again

Visitors returning to Primm Valley Casino will find many of the property’s key attractions already operating.

The casino reopened with 422 gaming machines, 250 hotel rooms, a William Hill Sports Book, a sports bar and a 24-hour quick-bites restaurant.

Guests also receive another welcome benefit. Terrible’s has eliminated resort fees, making overnight stays more affordable. Returning customers will also have their previous rewards tiers honored through a tier-matching program.

The company has introduced new promotions for both loyal guests and first-time visitors.

More improvements already planned

Although the casino has reopened, Terrible’s says additional improvements are already underway.

Future plans include a new coffee bar, a 24-hour casual dining café and a full-service steakhouse. Construction has already started on several of those projects as the company continues investing in the property.

The goal is to make Primm Valley Casino a more attractive destination for travelers and Southern Nevada visitors.

More than 300 jobs preserved

The reopening also delivered welcome news for hundreds of employees.

Earlier this year, former operator Affinity Gaming announced plans to permanently close the Stateline casino properties by July 4. The company cited annual losses estimated between $10 million and $15 million and said continuing operations was no longer financially viable.

Terrible’s stepped in before the closure took effect.

The Herbst family-owned company assumed management of the Primm Center, Chevron station, Flying J, Whiskey Pete’s Travel Store, Lotto Store and Starbucks on July 1. Those businesses reopened just one day later.

Ownership of Primm Valley Resort, Buffalo Bill’s Resort & Casino and Whiskey Pete’s Hotel & Casino officially transferred on July 5.

Terrible’s offered every employee the opportunity to return to work. Approximately 300 workers accepted the offer, preserving jobs and allowing many families to remain in company housing during the transition.

The swift reopening represents one of the fastest casino turnarounds in recent Nevada history. It also signals a new chapter for Primm as Terrible’s continues investing in one of the state’s best-known gaming destinations.
