
Nevada Financial Leader Joins Community Organization
LAS VEGAS — United Way of Southern Nevada has welcomed David Garcia to its Board of Directors. Garcia brings nearly 15 years of financial and business experience to the nonprofit organization.
Garcia serves as managing director and market team lead for J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Nevada. In that role, he helps individuals, families and organizations make complex financial decisions. His work includes investment planning, wealth management and long-term financial strategies.
Samuel Rudd, president and CEO of United Way of Southern Nevada, said Garcia will bring valuable leadership and insight to the board.
“David’s professional expertise and passion for community impact make him an outstanding addition to our Board of Directors,” Rudd said. “His leadership experience, strategic perspective and dedication to serving Southern Nevada will help strengthen our efforts.”

Garcia Brings Extensive Financial Experience
Garcia joined J.P. Morgan in 2015. Since then, he has helped establish and expand the private bank’s presence across Nevada. Earlier in his career, Garcia held positions with major law firms, Credit Suisse and GE Capital.
His professional background includes wealth management, commercial lending, investment banking, and mergers and acquisitions. Therefore, he will offer a broad business perspective as United Way plans future programs and partnerships.
Garcia earned a law degree and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in Latin American Studies from Brigham Young University, where he graduated with honors.
Garcia is a Certified Financial Planner professional. He also holds the Certified Private Wealth Advisor designation.

Long Record of Community Service
Garcia currently serves as treasurer for Three Square Food Bank. He also sits on the boards of The Smith Center, the UNLV Foundation and Lighthouse Charities. In addition, he mentors participants through Hope for Prisoners.
His service has also reached communities outside Nevada. Earlier in his career, Garcia led a microfinance initiative in Guatemala and helped organize a multi-resource center. He also volunteered for two years in El Salvador.
Garcia said he looks forward to supporting United Way’s work in education, health, financial stability and access to basic needs.
As a board member, he will help guide the organization’s strategy and governance. United Way of Southern Nevada works with community partners to improve lives and create lasting opportunities for local families.
