
Aviators close out challenging week with dramatic extra-inning victory at Las Vegas Ballpark
LAS VEGAS — The Las Vegas Aviators experienced a rollercoaster week against the Tacoma Rainiers, combining explosive offense, extra-inning drama and several tough losses during a five-game stretch at Las Vegas Ballpark.
Although Tacoma claimed the series advantage, the Aviators finished the week on a high note with an exciting 8-7 extra-inning victory on July 11. The win showcased the determination that has kept Las Vegas competitive throughout the Triple-A West season.

Aviators open series with strong win
The week began positively on July 7 when the Aviators defeated Tacoma 9-5.
Las Vegas jumped on the Rainiers early and never looked back. The Aviators scored in five different innings while generating consistent offensive pressure throughout the contest.
The victory gave fans hope that the club could build momentum during the important homestand. Moreover, the offense appeared locked in from the opening pitch.

Tacoma responds with three straight victories
However, Tacoma quickly answered.
On July 8, the Rainiers edged Las Vegas 9-7 in a competitive contest that featured plenty of offense from both clubs. The Aviators battled throughout the game but could not overcome Tacoma’s late scoring surge.
The following evening proved even more difficult.
Tacoma overwhelmed Las Vegas 18-4 on July 9 in one of the highest-scoring games of the season. The Rainiers’ bats stayed hot all night, while the Aviators struggled to contain the relentless attack.
Despite the lopsided score, Las Vegas continued to compete and looked to regroup heading into the final two games of the series.
The July 10 matchup delivered another offensive showcase. This time, Tacoma escaped with a 12-10 victory after both teams combined for 22 runs.
Las Vegas rallied repeatedly and refused to quit. Nevertheless, the Rainiers answered nearly every challenge and secured their third consecutive win.

Extra-inning thriller ends week on positive note
The most exciting game of the series arrived on July 11.
Both teams traded runs throughout the evening, creating a playoff-like atmosphere at Las Vegas Ballpark. Fans witnessed clutch hitting, key defensive plays and multiple momentum swings.
Neither team could pull away during regulation.
As a result, the game moved into extra innings tied at seven.
The Aviators remained composed under pressure and eventually secured the dramatic 8-7 victory. The win prevented a series sweep and gave Las Vegas a valuable confidence boost heading into the next portion of the schedule.

Offensive production remains encouraging
Despite finishing the week with a 2-3 record against Tacoma, the Aviators demonstrated significant offensive firepower.
Las Vegas scored 38 runs during the five-game stretch, averaging more than seven runs per game. The club produced double-digit scoring performances twice and remained competitive even during several losses.
The team’s ability to battle back in difficult situations highlighted its resilience.
As the second half of the season continues, the Aviators will look to build upon the offensive success displayed throughout the Tacoma series while improving consistency on the mound.
