LAS VEGAS — United Way of Southern Nevada and NV Energy are helping hundreds of local seniors manage past-due utility bills through the 2026 Project REACH Senior Expos.
More than 800 seniors received assistance during the first two expos held this year. The annual program connects older Southern Nevada residents with financial support at a time when utility and household costs remain a concern for many families.

Project REACH Senior Expos Continue
Two additional Project REACH Senior Expos are scheduled for next week at Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall, 5111 Boulder Highway in Las Vegas. Both events will run from 8 a.m. to noon.
The next expo takes place Tuesday, Aug. 25. A second event will follow Thursday, Aug. 27.
United Way of Southern Nevada operates Project REACH in partnership with NV Energy. The program provides financial assistance to Nevada seniors age 62 and older who have past-due utility bills.
Eligible seniors may receive up to $300 toward overdue electricity, water, trash, propane or sewer bills. Some seniors may also qualify for up to $400 in natural gas assistance through the Southwest Gas Energy Share program.
Program officials determine eligibility when each senior applies. Approval for Project REACH does not automatically qualify an applicant for Energy Share assistance.

What Seniors Need to Bring
Seniors planning to attend an expo should bring a Nevada driver’s license or Nevada state identification card. They also need a copy of their current past-due utility bill and proof of recent or pending income.
The address listed on the applicant’s identification must match the address shown on the utility bill.
The expos offer seniors an opportunity to apply for assistance in person while receiving help navigating available programs. For seniors living on fixed incomes, even a few hundred dollars in utility assistance can help ease pressure on monthly household budgets.
Project REACH reflects an ongoing partnership between United Way of Southern Nevada and NV Energy to connect vulnerable residents with resources in the community.
Additional information about income eligibility, required documents and upcoming Project REACH Senior Expos is available through United Way of Southern Nevada.
