PHOENIX — WordCamp US 2026 is heading to Phoenix for the first time, bringing developers, publishers, agencies and WordPress users together for four days of learning and collaboration.
The event runs Aug. 16–19 at the Phoenix Convention Center. This year’s program puts a major focus on artificial intelligence, open-source technology and new ways to build websites.
More than 50 talks and workshops are planned during the conference.

WordPress and AI Take Center Stage
Several major names from the WordPress community will speak during WordCamp US 2026.
WordPress co-founder and Automattic CEO Matt Mullenweg will join Robert Jacobi for a fireside chat. The discussion will explore AI, open source and the future of WordPress. The final 30 minutes will feature questions from the audience.
Jamie Marsland will lead several sessions aimed at people who want to build without traditional coding skills. One session will explore how AI can help users create plugins and customize WordPress.
Klaus Harris and Dr. Leslie Thomas will discuss the development of a professional WordPress credential. Their session will examine ways employers can better identify WordPress engineering skills.
WooCommerce Developer Advocate Brian Coords will focus on block themes, AI and agency workflows.
Shani Banerjee and Danny Dudzic will explore another growing trend: AI-powered shoppers. Their session looks at what happens when AI tools move beyond searching websites and begin comparing products or making buying decisions.

More Speakers Join WordCamp US
The program extends beyond Automattic.
Miriam Schwab will examine whether WordPress is ready for the growing agentic web. Nicola Catton will discuss owning an online audience and publishing platform.
Manny Costa will look at WordPress as a tool for the public good. His session will cover accessibility, public services and long-term digital stewardship.

New WordPress Tools on Display
Attendees can also visit the WordPress.com booth for demonstrations of WordPress Studio and WordPress Agent.
WordPress Studio is designed for developers and agencies. A new interface will be demonstrated during the event. Its Studio Code agent can help users build and make changes through a conversation.
WordPress Agent focuses more on people who manage websites. Demonstrations will cover editorial review, image editing and other daily website tasks.
The team is also asking visitors to share feedback about problems they would like future WordPress tools to solve.

Students Get a Bigger Role
Education is another focus this year.
WordPress.com Education gives students access to a professional environment where they can create websites and learn practical digital skills.
More than 5,000 active students have already used the program. WordPress.com is also expected to announce new plans for students and educators during WordCamp US.
Attendees will receive a limited-edition Little WordPress.com Zine, featuring stories, activities and information about new WordPress tools.
General admission for WordCamp US 2026 is $100, while student tickets cost $25. A WordPress.com sponsor code offers 20% off general admission.
Tickets include two conference days, Contributor Day, Showcase Day, lunch, coffee, Sponsor Hall access and the closing social.
