LAS VEGAS — A familiar face from one of Las Vegas’ most legendary productions will take center stage again this September, this time for decades of service to the Southern Nevada community.
Foundation Assisting Seniors will honor Lynette Chappell, known to generations of Las Vegas audiences as the Evil Queen in Siegfried & Roy, during its inaugural Illuminate the Night gala on Thursday, Sept. 24.
The event begins at 5:30 p.m. at Via Tivoli Estate in Seven Hills.
Celebrating Lynette Chappell
Chappell spent more than 45 years performing on Las Vegas stages, including her memorable role alongside Siegfried & Roy. Away from the spotlight, she has supported hundreds of charitable efforts and community causes throughout Southern Nevada.
“Lynette has been an incredible friend to our Foundation, generously lending her time, her voice, and her heart to our mission,” said Vicki Bertin, president and CEO of Foundation Assisting Seniors.
Bertin said the organization is proud to recognize Chappell’s generosity and lasting contributions to the community.
Nevada Gov. Joe Lombardo and UNLV Interim President and CEO Chris Heavey are also expected to attend.
An Evening Supporting Southern Nevada Seniors
Illuminate the Night will include an elegant cocktail garden reception followed by a candlelit dinner under the stars. Guests can also participate in silent and live auctions benefiting Foundation Assisting Seniors.
Money raised during the evening will support the nonprofit’s free programs for seniors and veterans throughout the Las Vegas Valley.
Those services include its Medical Equipment Distribution Program, which provides durable medical equipment at no cost. Available equipment can include wheelchairs, walkers, rollators, transport chairs, hospital beds and other mobility and safety equipment.
The Foundation also operates its HowRU Daily Wellness Check program. Volunteers make daily wellness calls to vulnerable seniors and veterans. Since launching in 2016, the program has resulted in 15 documented life-saving interventions.
Founded in 2002, Foundation Assisting Seniors works to help adults age 50 and older remain safe and independent in their homes while reducing financial, administrative and insurance barriers to needed assistance.
Individual tickets for Illuminate the Night are $500. Sponsorship opportunities begin at $5,000, while advertising opportunities start at $1,500.
